I am at the part where it states "Connection accepted", and the game is acting like it is looking for a command. I have tried run, join, start, r, j, s, enter, e, Yes, y. And it states it is a command that does nothing how do I join the Lan multiplayer at this point?
Attach is a screenshot of where I am stuck, it connects to the game, but then it sits on this window like I need to type in a command. As stated before I tried "Y" as a command and even others like join, yes, go, startgame, enter, entergame....all of it states invalid command and does not load me into the multiplayer game. Any help would be great!

Thank you ahead of time

I tried to do this quite a long time ago so details are faded in memory already. May be the game needs some auxilliary port to run properly. Did you added HeXen II executables to the exception lists on the local firewalls, both client and server?

I'm the one trying to connect with her. We've checked out firewall setup, and everything Hexen, and Galaxy related for that matter, are all allowed on our Norton network. We also tried playing with Hamachi, and nothing worked. Oddly, we can't seem to choose IPX at all. We just cannot navigate to IPX with a keyboard (controllers are picked up for the game too, and that isn't working on that page). But the TCP/IP connection should work, and it doesn't. On my side, when I go to join her IP address, it says connection failed and there is no response. From her side, the connection is successful but it then acts as if she needs to input a command on the command prompt, and she never joins the game successfully.

We're able to network with other games on galaxy, and our network has been hooked up the same way for years. We're really not sure what's going on with Hexen 2 multiplayer.

I'm at loss then. I took the installer and installed the game on my desktop with XP 64-bit. After that just copied installed game directory to the laptop with 7-64-bit. Started server for 4 players on the desktop via in-game "Multiplayer" menu. And connected to it from the laptop via "Multiplayer->Join" menu. The only thing I had to specify is IP address of the server. My machines are in the same LAN address space, though: 192.168.2.0/24. And in the same broadcast domain.

Its strange that Hamachi did not resolved the problem. And when you connect directly do have port 26900 forwarding explicitly set on the server side router?
