This is an FYI for other Hellpoint players.
It seems Hellpoint has two types of saved games. If you run the game through Galaxy it goes into "online" mode, when you start a new game in this mode, that character/save seems forever tied to that mode. If the game is offline (can't connect, or run without Galaxy) that saved game won't show up anymore. The same goes for trying to use an offline save in online mode. I discovered this when trying to move my Linux saved game to Windows and use Galaxy.
This is likely just cheat protection for people editing their saves in online mode. In online mode, If you manually edit a save, it actually restores it back to it's non-edited state from their end when you load it.
I personally don't really have a big problem with how this works. I just wish the game was more upfront about it, such as a warning when you start the game in a specific mode, that you are now forever tied to that mode. Also, instead of just not showing a saved game, label them as online or offline mode and just don't allow people to select it.
There's already multiple threads about people's saves going missing and I believe this is the reason.
