There is no more "Messages" option in HUD Options > Scalling options since version 1.5.0
The only way to enlarge the text is to input the console command con_scaletext, unless you don't want to input con_scaletext command each and every time you start the game here is what you need to do:
1. create file named <autoexec.cfg>, without brackets
2. open that file in any text editor and input <con_scaletext #>, without brackets, where # is the integer from 1 (default) to 4 (maximum)
Please note that text overlapping can be cured by setting higher resolution, e.g. con_scaletext 2 overlaps on 1280*720 but not on 1366*768 and so on.
To check or modify path to autoexec.cfg including file name open hedon-<Your_ID>.ini file in game folder and look up "[Hedon.AutoExec]Path="
Additional notes from Developer:
"The value of 2 is recommended for 1920x1080, so bear that in mind. This is the default.
3 is for 4k and 1 is for below 1080"
