HOI3 I bought the game and the "DLC" Collection. My understanding of the "expansions" are they are nothing more than glorified patches. There is no real extra content, scenarios campaigns etc. they are just improvements to the game. So I cannot play each expansion as a stand alone. I can only play tfh, the last patch made by paradox? Isnt it a bit misleading to label it DLC rather than just call it a patch?

The expansions actually brought new scenarios. There were also new features introduced and they introduced multi-threading in one of the expansions.

Finally, there are actually launchers for each of the DLC so you can technically play without their finest hour and just semper fi. I've found that they mostly no longer work with the updates in Windows.
