I have just installed my disc version of Harvester and can't seem to get the sound working right. I've got sound skipping during dialogue and cutscenes. I have messed around with the sound setup but that doesn't seem to help. Does anybody know how to fix this and does the gog version have this issue too?
You could try my DosBox setup:

GOGs version doesn't have sound issues but small problems regarding cutscenes (it IS playable though). Hopefully they will change their setup in the near future...

That didn't help but I played around with some D-Fend settings and as far as I can tell I improved it now Have to test further if it really works or not. Thanks for the help though!

I seem to have fixed my sound issues but I do experience the cutscene issues (at least I think it's that what you are referring to) Since my sound issues are back when I use your dosbox config I was wondering if you could tell me what setting changes the cutscene issue, so that I can only change that in my own config file
It is not the config file, which is making a difference, but the DosBox version. I use Taewoongs DosBox, which is far superior to DosBox 0.74 in many ways.

How did you "improve" your sound problems? I'm pretty sure we can get rid of them completely...

When I use that doesbox version, the sound still stutters a bit and the movies play exactly the same as when I run dosbox through d-fend. I changed some dosbox settings through dfend (core, audio, priority) and one of those or a combination of those fixed the audio. Only stutters occasionally (very few) when the game needs to load from the disc again. I am not sure I am experiencing the same movie issue. I takes a few seconds to load the video it seems. Looks like i miss the first second or something because of it. When I click on my brother the second the: it tries to play a movie but it's probably so short that it gets cut completely. First time works even if it looks like I miss a second (i see the cowboy shoot the indian). Again this issue is present with my setup and with yours so this might be different issue.

Unrelated: I am a total newb with dosbox and discs so somebody said i should use d-fend: I can work with that now, I installed harvester with it but will I run into issues when i have to change a disc???
Did you really use my setup? It is NOT just the config file. There should be NO delay regarding the cutscenes with this version.

To fully understand your sound issues I need to know your system specs.

D-fend ist "just" a frontend for DosBox. It is a configuration utility but it does NOT do anything on its own. It just helps configurating DosBox...

I think I used your setup. I can use a setting in d-fend where i can say which dosbox version I want to use and I linked to the location of your setup. That should work if i understand it correctly. maybe i has to do with reading from the disc instead of an iso?
