HANDS OF NECROMANCY II
Beginner's Guide
ITEMS
Blue Flask: +10hp, not stored in inventory (used on pickup)
Stamina Potion: +20 stamina
Red Flask: +20hp
Yellow Flask: +100hp, can heal player up to 200hp max
Super Potion: +200hp and +100 stamina
Ghost Head: invisibility for a short time; enemies will not shoot at you for the duration
Crystal of Life: resurrects the player at the beginning of the map with 100hp and brief invulnerability
Berserker Head: you will take half damage for a short duration
Berserker Hand: you will inflict double damage for a duration
Amulet of Death: kill all enemies in a short distance around you
Torch: shines light around the player for a short time
Big Bag of Carrying: allows you to carry 2× more max ammo
Mapscroll: reveals an automap for the entire level (default key: TAB)
Anti-Toxin Amulet: grants immunity against all fluid effects and prevents drowning
Jar of Invincibility: you will be invincible for a short duration
Hand of Necromancy: revives a single enemy corpse to fight under your banner as your minion
Big Hand of Necromancy: same effect as Hand of Necromancy, but it revives multiple enemy corpses in a short distance around you
WEAPONS AND TRANSFORMATIONS
Acheron
Weapons (primary attack, alt-fire)
Magical Sword
melee weapon that can be used without ammo
using ammo doubles the damage
alt-fire: deflects projectiles
Fireball Staff
launches fireballs
alt-fire: triple shot
Ring of Ice
fires projectiles that penetrate and stun enemies
flying enemies will lose flight briefly
produces a ring of secondary projectiles when hitting an enemy
enemies freeze solid when killed.
alt-fire: an icethrower attack continuously dealing high damage to enemies
Tornado Spell
launches a small tornado that pushes enemies away while dealing damage
If the enemy is dragged along or pinned against a wall, the tornado will cause a significant amount of damage
once the tornado has exhausted, nearby enemies will be launched away
especially useful for pushing enemies off cliffs
alt-fire: 6 tornadoes swirling around you, dealing massive damage and pushing away attacking enemies
Unholy Grenade
a bouncing grenade that explodes after a timed delay or on direct impact with an enemy
if left on the ground, the grenade acts as a landmine that explodes when the enemies get too close
enemies that survive the explosion will ignite and take additional damage
alt-fire: a timed grenade that explodes into high damaging flames on the ground
Pistol Cannon
a powerful handgun with a shotgun-style spread
alt-fire: activates a precise sniper mode
Scythe
casts a slashwave at mid-range
slashwaves penetrate enemies and set them on fire
enemies killed by the slashwave or the fire grant you 3hp upon death
alt-fire: summons a ghostly lemure who will attack the enemies
Transformations (primary attack, alt-fire, 3rd attack)
Swamp Serpent Transformation
you can slither through narrow spaces and breathe underwater
attacks: bite, acid spit, throwing gas clouds
Stone Breaker Transformation
you suffer 30% less damage and can break walls that have cracks on them (you have to aim as close as possible to the center of the crack)
attacks: punch with a shockwave that damages surrounding enemies, powerful stalactite rain
Hell Burner Transformation
you can walk on lava or swim in it without suffering damage
attacks: fireball, lines of lasting flames, fire circle around the player
Wyvern Transformation
you can fly indefinitely, but suffer 30% more damage from enemies
attacks: explosive fireball, short-range stream of fire, quick dash that pushes enemies from you
Phaedra
Weapons (primary attack, alt-fire)
Magical Dagger
melee weapon
alt-fire: continuously absorbs life energy of enemies it strikes
Bracelet of Fire
casts a single large fireball
alt-fire: launches a line of fireballs that split into more balls of fire
Ice Staff
shoots crystal balls that shatter into shards; enemies who walk over the shards take damage
enemies freeze solid when killed
alt-fire: casts ice stalagmites around you; can be used to set traps on the ground; the stalagmites last 30s
Wind Sphere
casts a tornado on the selected spot within your view which continuously damages nearby enemies
alt-fire: creates a larger tornado that thrashes enemies around and causes even greater damage
Blunderbuss
a powerful shotgun dealing massive damage
alt-fire: adds fire damage to some of the projectiles fired
Evil Staff
casts energy spheres that turn into thunder when the target is hit, dealing continuous damage
alt-fire: summons a reaver who will help you in the battle
Transformations (primary attack, alt-fire, 3rd attack)
Spider Transformation
you can fit into narrow spaces
attacks: biting, spitting poison, spawning little spiders
Wolf Ogre Transformation
you suffer 30% less damage and can break walls that have cracks on them (you have to aim as close as possible to the center of the crack)
attacks: punching, slashing, activating the berserk mode to give Phaedra faster attacks and allow her to see through Walls
Burning Skeleton Transformation
you can walk on lava or swim in it without suffering damage
attacks: throwing fireballs, spawning a horizontal line of flame, activating a burning wave around her
Giant Bat Transformation
you can fly indefinitely, but suffer 30% more damage from enemies
attacks: bitting, casting shockwaves, detecting objects through Walls
EXTRA TIPS
_Remember to use the automap by pressing TAB. It might help you figure out where to go next and if there are any areas you haven't visited yet.
_Press E to open a door or activate a switch.
_When you die, press E to restart.
_Stone Breaker’s shockwave can penetrate through walls. Use it to kill enemies while you stay safely behind cover.
_Wyvern's flamethrower is more effective if you pin the enemy against a wall where they can't move away from you and thus suffer massive damage.
_Phaedra’s Blunderbuss has a wide spread, but can do massive damage if you concentrate the fire on a single target. Alt-fire is even more powerful, making it an extremely efficient anti-boss weapon.
