hi im just wondering how would i got about using a ps3 controller i dont have a wireless dongle for it just a usb cord.. ive tried just connect it .. it comes up with controller 1 but does nothing when i try and move sticks or press buttons... im using win 8 ty.. alos btw this game is awesome hehe

Use the XInput Wrapper for Sony DualShock Controllers. This software allows for a DualShock to be used with any Windows game that supports Xbox 360 controllers, including Hammerwatch.
