Since today the launcher doesn`t appear anymore, no matter if I click on the Icon or start the launcher directly from the directory where the game is installed. The game will be directly loaded, without any chance to get to the launcher and choosing mods for example. Is there a possibility to get the launcher back?

Only thing I can think of is to try uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Maybe the launcher file got corrupted?

Hm, maybe I`ll try that tomorrow. I mhope I can save the saves of my game.

Deinstalling and installing again doesn`t help. the launcher still does not appear!

By looking in a file named "Game" I found the following entry:
Resource error: : Could not find file: C:/GOG Games/Hammerwatch/assets/levels/menu_4.xml.bin
In fact, there is no assets folder at all, but an assets file, a file named "assets.bin".

Do you happen to have any overly aggressive antivirus software installed? If so, please turn it off for the time being, uninstall and re-install the game with the antivirus software turned off and let me know if that makes a difference :)

Hmm, the antivirus (Avast) is always on. I had it on when I first installed Hammerwatch. The launcher showed up then. Since two days the launcher doesn`t show up anymore, despite the fact that it did before.

I don't know but maybe Avast didn't like something after an update to the game? I am not sure.

Hmm, I bought Hammerwatch on November 13, afair there was no update since then.

Yes, I can confirm this :) Well, the only thing I can think of is the antivirus software not liking something as we've never heard of this kind of thing happening until you reported it :)

I turned off avast, deinstalled, cleared harddrive from every trace of the game by using CCleaner, reinstalled and the launcher still is not available, so I still can`t choose any mods (wanted to play this christmas mod).
Hmm, maybe if I redownload the installer?
Will check this out now.

Tried it, still no launcher!!!!!
I`m going slightly mad!!
