I normally keep games firewalled when I don't intend to play multiplayer with them - after all, they have no reason to require the internet when I'm only doing singleplayer stuff.
When firewalled, like I normally keep stuff, it won't start - the cursor shows activity for a moment, then it goes back to normal with the game not actually starting. If I unfirewall it, but disconnect my internet, it shows the same result. There's no error anywhere I can see, the game just doesn't start.
Only when unfirewalled and having an active internet connection, will the game start.
This is not legitimate behavior.
