Ah the memories of playing this game. I've always been a fan of space based games, no matter what the genre, but add in a nearly perfectly balanced RTS on top of that, and you have a game full of win. Everything about this game really just draws you into the experience, and playing with friends is just that much more fun. This is a must have once it is available :)

Yeah I am eager for its release as well. It was fun to play LoI back in the day and the graphics still hold up fairly well. Since I live in the US I wasn't able to play the expansion but now that it will be on GOG I am stoked.

It was a beauty of a game to play - though I found that its balance was a little off sadly - it really leans itself to space battles, but the real power usually lay in spies and the good use of them.
They also had an odd ship command point system with very small fleet caps which we the same for each ship type - so everyone tended to just research to battleships and the other classes were ignored - fighters just had no place past the early campaign missions.
Campaign was good though as I recall.
I am interested in teh GoG edition though as the expansion for this game got terrible release in the UK - hardly any sound of it coming out and then nobody was selling it or a goldedtion - one could get the original game, but nothing of the expansion which apparently did address some of the balance problems.

I can't wait either! I remember being astounded at the technical proficiency of this game back in the day. I never got around to playing more than the demo, but they don't make games like this anymore so this will be an awesome addition.

Definitely looking forward to it myself, the game managed to fall though the crack between its release date and me having a computer that could run it so I've missed it entirely.

Ive still got the org game n fact sitting in front of me :D but wont stop me buying it off here
the game even now still looks nice and it runs well even on low end pcs and laptops

I've been checking every day for a release date on it since I saw it on the upcoming list.
