i am not a very good player and i would therefore not be able to complete the game on the higher difficulties. i would still want to unlock the costumes however. is there a way to cheat to get them?

I don't know haven't had luck with finding any cheats for the pc. Maybe if somebody finished the game on all difficulties and could give you a save file you could try that for unlocking all customes.
