Just picked up GGX the other day, good game with a great soundtrack, unfortunately i'am pretty bad at fighting games. Since GGX is fun, sounds good, and has cool characters I figured I'd start devoting some time to get good at it. So I was wondering if veterans and experts of GGX could pass on some help tips/strategies, obviously a lot depends on which fighter everyone plays (been playing Sol/Chipp the most so far) but I'am hoping there is some general advice that will help (other than smash buttons get lucky, since that hasn't been working out so well). So far the hardest thing I've come up against is I-No at the end of arcade mode (which I've yet to beat), so far I've learned to dodge her special heart sphere thing but her overdrives get me almost every time.
First tip

Don't worry about boss I-no, beating her is using much different skills than the main game, and it won't really help you vs other people.

2nd, learn a movelist for a character, just find any, and then keep playing arcade mode, don't worry about winning, worry about seeing what you can do! Keep putting up the difficulty as you can, but don't worry about I no or the 2nd last computers, you can get very good and still find them a pain.

Watch some match videos, and look up some info on the dustloop forums, which are the place to go for GG.

And also, just find friends, getting better only matters for these games when you have friends to play with! Learn with them is the best way to go
1) Learn your character's movelist. Find FAQs that will teach you their Bread and Butter (basic, needed) combos, or google for them.
2) I-No's overdrive is avoidable if you get in the spaces where the pattern isn't. If it's the full-cone variant, try to get behind her (jump, jump, airdash, etc).
3) Stick to basic characters, like Sol, Millia or Kye for now. They're good all-rounders who aren't that complex compared to some of the others (sure Venom is fun, but his learning curve is horrific as a newbie).

Hope that helps, keep at it! :D
I-No is one of the cheapest bosses in all fighting games. Expect her to take hours of your life with her.

I found that she is killed easily with instant kills - all face buttons then down, down-right, right + heavy slash

its tricky to perfect but its a cheap and easy way to beat her without learning when and where to block and jump.
