I'm not wanting to buy a controller or an arcade stick if I can help it, so I'm going to try using the keyboard for #Reload, against probably all recommendations I will get, so suggesting I do otherwise will be futile.
That out of the way, I'm trying to figure out a good keyboard configuration for the game (I'm a fighting game n00b, so take that into account). At the moment, I'm thinking of using WASD for movement and the numpad for the "face button" functions. I may or may not put the jump function on the numpad, too, as I'm accustomed to that kind of thing from playing Streets of Rage 2 (brawler from the Genesis days), for which I had numpad keys 4 and 5 as attack keys (5 being the primary, under my middle finger) and 6 as the jump key. I'll probably be the most comfortable if my middle finger can hover over the primary attack key, if there is just one, and if I have the jump function on the numpad, I'll probably use my ring finger on 6 for that. I know there's at least one important attack button that, on consoles, is a shoulder button, and I'm not sure what to map that to just yet.
Again, I don't want this to be about comparing input devices/methods, but for keymapping recommendations only. So, would anyone have some good advice concerning this?
Thanks in advance.
