Hi, I just started downloaded GC1, and everything worked perfectly, until I actually got into the game. Once I was in, My pointer was approximately 2 seconds behind my actual mouse movement, and everything was herky-jerky. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem, and how they fixed it. I know that it cannot be my hardware, as I can handle Ground Control 2 and Dawn of War at maximum settings without a hitch. Thanks for responding!
Hardware:
AMD Athlon XP 2500+
Asus AH3450, 2GB RAM.
XP Home OS

I found the perfect solution!

Do you have low framerates for the original Ground Control on Windows 7 or Windows 8 64 bit? Worry no further.

Follow these simple steps.

1. Go find the gc.exe under "C:\GOG Games\Ground Control and Expansion"

2. Right click on gc.exe -> Go to Compatibility Tab -> Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 98 / Windows Me

3. Then go down to Settings and check "Run This program as an administrator" just in case.

4. Leave everything as is and Press "Apply" or "OK"

My framerate jumped from 15 fps to 150 fps. No kidding. Enjoy.

I attached an image just in case my instructions aren't clear enough. ;-)

If you're an AMD user, go the AMD control panel and in there to antialiasing settings. Change "use application settings" to "override application settings" and choose multisampling. Disable morphological antialiasing.

The other solution I've found is to put your desktop refresh rate to 60 (or close to) Hz.
