I've been trying to fix this for a while but i cannot get the original ground control or its expansion to work. When you load the .exe or the shortcut the screen goes black for a few moments then it crashes to the windows error screen. I've tried changing the compatibility mode and run as administrator nothing works yet.

I'm running
-windows 7 home premium 64-bit
-core i7 720qm
-nvidia gtx260m
-4gb ddr3

All my drivers are current as is directx

Ground Control 2 works fine with compatibility for windows 98/me and run as administrator.
