So does anyone know what the difficulty settings actually change? Nothing about it in the manual.

On 'light' friendly fire is disabled and on 'normal' friendly fire is enabled and the attributes of the troops remain in balanced, on 'hard' the enemyes have the boost of speed, armor and firepower, with friendly fire enabled.
