What, you expect a game that was being worked on when CRTs were king to support actual resolutions above 800 x 600?
The dev is too busy going on bizarre tirades to fix anything with the game.

Yeah. You have to restart for the resolution to work.
Also, there is no widescreen. It is only in 4:3.
