As indicated in the title, I can't attack. I have the first weapon of the game and it is well equipped on my character. Neither the normal attack nor the special attack works.
The problem does not come from the controller, I tried to put the attack button (X on the xbox controller) on the jump, and when I press, I jump :) Conversely, if I use the jump button (A on the xbox controller) to attack, the A button that worked for jumping doesn't work for attacking.

Removing / reinstalling the game did not solve the problem.

Same issue... haven't figured out a fix for it ... help

UPDATE * Found on the steam forum, its a BUG either ALT TAB in and out on full screen OR switch to BRODERLESS WINDOWED and attack works.

same problem here. when I hit the attack button, all works well. but when there's even one monster in front of Ragnar, he won't attack on hitting the same button. very annoying, destroys a very good game for me.

I had a problem on my computer where the mouse clicks weren't allowing the character to attack, but I could attack using the keyboard keys J and H. For me, deleting the game's registry keys in regedit seems to have fixed the problem.

First I uninstalled Grime. Then I uninstalled GOG. Then I deleted the Grime's registry keys. To do this, type "regedit" in the Windows search bar. Then follow the path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> SOFTWARE --> Clover Bite then right click Clover Bite. Click delete, then yes.

Then I downloaded Grime through GOG's offline installer on my web browser, plus all of the patches. Then I installed the game offline. It seems to have run fine after this. I assume the process works the same for Steam, if Steam has an offline installer (I don't use Steam because of DRM). But I'm almost certain the problem is with the registry key, and you may not even need to uninstall the game if this is the case, although the problem is almost certain to return if so. At least it's an easy fix.
