Long story short I have had immense trouble getting this to run, but after lots of research finally got it to start up with sound and I can move around and interact with stuff except it only shows a small section of the screen rendering it unplayable until I can fix this.

-I have an Intel HD graphics 4000 and a Radeon HD 7730m Graphics card on my computer.

-It will only run if I go into the folder game>bin and double clicking "GrimFandango" directly.

-I'm pretty sure I have updated my drivers, but I'm a total Linux noob and not completely sure what all I've and have no idea how to check for sure.(I have done several things in terminal after researching)

-I've seen various suggestions about deleting certain folders and files(amd64 and i386); none of this has worked for me so far keeping all the files is the only way I've been able get the game to run.

-I have installed libc6:i386 libasound2:i386 libasound2-data:i386 libasound2-plugins:i386 (well it says "Note, selecting 'libasound2-data' instead of 'libasound2-data:i386'" not sure what that means). These files are how I finally fixed the sound.

I think that's all the info I have. I'm so close to getting this to run, but after researching have completely exhausted all possible fixes that I could find.

Edit: Well, my what I think were my graphics card drivers updated, I believe these are the open source drivers as the proprietary ones aren't kept up to date as far as I know, and now it's just a black screen with no other changes. The sound still works, I can still interact with things through guess work, can hear dialogue, go to different rooms and access the menu all with a black screen and sound.

I'm guessing this is an issue with the graphics drivers as the change was after updates, but have absolutely no idea how I would go about fixing this. The proprietary Linux driver for my Radeon card is six years outdated and I wasn't able to successfully install it anyway, don't know about the Intel card.

After some research I actually fixed it!

What I did is first I installed Wine through terminal, then I installed Lutris through terminal. In Lutris, I clicked the plus to add a game and used the native linux runner and the file path I picked was the GrimFandango one in game>bin that I mentioned in my previous post. I selected the game in Lutris clicked play and voila! The game runs perfectly now!
