When running Grim Fandango the gameplay itself is fine but the cutscenes aren't; the framerate is very slow, as is the audio. Anyone else having this problem?

I had the same problem. Updated Java to the newest version and that took care of it. Hope this helps!
I solved this by installing VLC media player AND make it default for ogv files:

After install of VLC: go to a ogv file in your file-explorer (mine is Thunar) (they are in /game/bin/MoviesHD folder)
And make VLC the default player to open ogv files.
(In Thunar right-click - open with other application - VLC (and check the box for default).
---> Works similar in other File Explorers I think.

Me too. Cutscenes have stuttering audio, but gameplay is fine.
The VLC workaround doesn't work for me.
I have VLC as the default player for most of the video files, including .ogv, since a long time but still the cutscenes are stuttering.

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone, but I think it's just the fact that I don't have enough RAM...which is annoying. I think I'm just going to get it on my PS4 and be satisfied. Still, I appreciate the help! :)
