A simple question regarding Grim Dawn Definitive Edition.

I own Grim Dawn, Crucible, Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods here on GOG.com, but in the shop I can still purchase the Definitive Edition for my account (not as a gift, so to speak).

Reading the description, it would seem that the base game plus the three DLCs are equivalent to the DE so, by owning them, do I actually "own" the DE too or there are some (unspecified) differences?

What happens if I buy the DE even though I already have the four elements that compose it?

Seeing as you already own all of the game you would be waisting your mopney buying the Grim Dawn : DE.

Many games on GoG that have DE's do not recognize that you already own everything that is in them.

You support CRATE developping their RTS game
As one who has bought the AoM, FG and crucible DLCs piecemeal over the years, you already have the Definitive Edition. If you cart the Definitive Edition and go to checkout, you will see a warning:

Please note that Grim Dawn AND Grim Dawn - Ashes of Malmouth AND Grim Dawn - Crucible AND Grim Dawn - Forgotten Gods is included in Grim Dawn Definitive Edition but you already own this item, and will not receive another copy when you buy this pack.

So presumably you will be paying for nothing

Weird. It shouldn't allow you to try and buy it at all if you have all the parts of it.

Sadly this is "normal" on GOG for other games, too.
Weird,,, but not so weird, I suspected this was the case but with all these DE / REs now you can never tell exactly how things work. Thanks everyone for the clarification.
