Possibly an unusual question, but I am running Linux Mint 18.3. I would like to be able to transfer it to Steam (cloud) as a backup. Where are the folders and how would I get WINE steam to see any characters from GOG?

I imagine GOG's version works like Steam's where it saves in different locations depending on whether you use cloud or not.

1st - make sure both GOG's and Steam's version have cloud saving disabled, both in GOG's / Steam's application and ingame

2nd - you'll want your virtual drive's (in my case, under PlayOnLinux) and go to *virtual drive's name \ grimdawn \ drive_c \ users \ *user's name \ my document's shortcut \ my games \ grim dawn \ save

This location is the same for both GOG and Steam versions with cloud saving disabled.

There's a catch, as far as i know: what happens when you re-enable cloud saves? Since i've never done that myself, dunno what happens because, the save's location is NOT THE SAME when using / not using cloud. Will you lose access to the saves with one platform when you enable cloud saves on the other?

Unrelated to your question: how did you install GOG's version under Linux? Could you provide a step by step procedure? I seem to have messed up with mine and can't properly install: for starters, it seems i don't have GOG Galaxy even though the installer is only accessible via Galaxy, AFAIK.

For installing it on Linux, scroll down this page (https://www.gamersonlinux.com/forum/threads/grim-dawn-guide.1032/page-2) until you get to post #25 (by the article creator), follow those steps. I beleieve I got WINE Steam to take my GOG save . . . . .

Funny: that's the guide i use to install the Steam version xD

I thought i could use this guide to install the GOG version by replacing Steam installer with GOG installer but i couldn't do it that way: PoL would always crash and i couldn't get around that :(

Managed to install GOG's GD by selecting the game's installer instead of GOG's installer but that goes directly to game so i can't change any of GOG's settings before launching (like adding /d3d9, for example) and, even though i have Crucible DLC, it doesn't let me install it. Says i don't have Galaxy when the installer i used i got from the Galaxy page and, as i said, it goes directly to the game without being able to select anything 1st :(
