The game is crashing a lot...i just lost 30 minutes trying to get to a boss, then having to restart the game, 3 times. I of course, lost all the items i got in the process...
Blech.

I never had crashes in middle of the game, but in quitting or at start.

Your game is saved when you quit the game, all will be lost if it crashes in middle. So, sometimes quit and relaunch..
Also experienced lots of crashes (every 20-30 minutes) before eventually availing myself of GOG's return policy. Based on what I read when looking into the matter and the things GOG support had asked me to try to trouble-shoot it, it sounds like the game is quite sensitive to a lot of different system configuration factors, so some people have no issues, while others have tons of crashes.

Actually the crashes have stopped now that i have applied the latest patch. Apparently it was the previous patch that was the cause of this xD
It happens so it's alright.
Really enjoying the game, now.
I'll never get back that rare helmet though T__T haha it's ok ^^
There's a repair game utility for Grim Dawn. I used this to fix the crashes I used to be experiencing.

i've noticed this too - i've had many crashes/freezes, but ONLY when exiting the game. so thankfully, i have never actually lost any progress or items due to a crash/freeze.

most of the time i can manually 'end task' for the EXE in the task manager, but there have been a few occasions where i've simply had to reboot the computer, and then everything is fine again... until the next time.

--- note: i have reinstalled, and i have tried the repair option too.
Did any one find out why the crashes are happening so bloody much?
Strangely, for me - I got sick of the micro-stuttering (and reading about and trying all the multiple things that have been suggested to no avail for me) and crashes, I installed Grim Dawn on my old rig, my previous gaming system... and it works great! Graphics is not quite as nice, but at least not micro-stuttering or crashing at all. weird! So unfortunately I've given up playing it on my powerful gaming rig that has been fantastic for everything (except Grim Dawn) I play on it. :(
Do you by any chance use Windows 10 while experiencing all these crashes?

This "stuttering on too powerful rig" reminds me of the problem with another game, and it was solved by forcefully limiting CPU freq with power management plan.

interesting! thank you very much for the heads-up Gremlion. -bows- i will have to check into what that is all about, i'll google it and see what i can find out.

note: i'm running windows 8.1 x64.
I too have experienced rather big amount of crashes, unfortunately. In my case, Grim Dawn crashes on start-up and on loading screens most of the time. My solution to this is to delete a file called "gacache.bin", which is located in "Documents/MyGames/Grim Dawn/save/"(applies to Windows 7). Eventually, the game will begin to crash again, but if you delete the file from time to time, you should experience less crashes.
Navigate to the Grim Dawn installation folder and remove ( move the files into an empty folder ) the following files:

d3d9.dll
dinput8.dll
dxgi.dll
xinput1_3.dll
GogGalaxyHooks.dll

Don't use the Gog Galaxy client to start / play the game, you'll be able to play singleplayer without these crashes. Named files were responsible for the crashes in Witcher 3 btw. :-)
