I'm interested if the LAN option works and if so, does it work through emulated LAN like hamachi?

Yeah I know noone remembers LAN parties these days cause everyone is a spurdo burger eating steam lover (or galaxy client lover) and does not care about us older folks and DRM.

Tell me how much of this game is cut if I abhore the galaxy/steam client software and don't fancy using it?

There was lan in the beta and it worked fine, I doubt they removed it for the release.

P.s. sorry I am unable to answer for sure since I am waiting on humble to get me my gog key, had I known I would have to go through the trouble of getting the beta key that forced me to use steam disabled then I would have just skipped playing the beta..... humble and steam taking forever to get this done.

Heh, understood. Crate took it's sweet time developing this as well.
No rush buying this I guess till the LAN option is confirmed.
A quick short offtopic question, please forgive!
Is the game through and through as the screens show? - loads of zombies, darkness and general permanent rusty/musty/dank/smoked filter applied?
Did they really completely dump the beautiful lush green landscapes TQ had?

It has been a while since I played, but yeah it is a much darker world, there are some green spots but the overall atmosphere is dark, it fits in my opinion, within the story of the game.

So humble finally disabled the steam key and provided the gog key, the Multiplayer LAN option is still there and seems to be the same (No option to connect to a typed in IP address just browser current network I assume).

Internet multiplayer seems to require the use of the galaxy client.

I followed the link and clicked a text link on that page that had a text something like "Click here for your gog key" (see image attachment) then I got a generate button that generated the key for me.

LAN doesn't work for more than two people, so you have to play over the internet until that is fixed.
IIRC, there is a Hamachi option, which might be the best way to arrange non-local games with non-Galaxy users. Galaxy works for me, but so far there have been 0, 1, or 2 games to join at random times in the evening Eastern Standard Time (USA).

I've lost the forum link, but I remember the Steam/Galaxy cross-platform situation being "it's on the radar and we're working on it, but no promises".

Thanks for the reply. Seems i'm missing the "click here for your gog key" on my link, so i'll have to wait till humble replies to my ticket.

Actually LAN doesn't work at all...I've been trying to get LAN working since Grim Dawn Came out and it simply cannot be done. I have never ran into anyone that has actually got it working either.

I've had LAN work at a mates house. He uses STEAM version of Grim Dawn.
We had initial difficulty with him hosting, but none with me hosting and i believe ti came down to the stupid firewall exception list popup... not popping up over the game to tell me it needed an exclusion.
So it does work, it does work cross play through LAN with same version, but i have yet to see it work on hamachi (it shows on hamachi [in LAN server list] but i cannot launch into the LAN game with my second PC).

Sorry I'm going to call you out on that one because I have the same set up as you list, Hamachi and Steam version and GOG version not using Galaxy and the LAN option has never worked never mind once or twice in the past.

Neither version on either computer allows LAN to work no matter who hosts.
