I can't see the mouse pointer at any time during gameplay or even on the title screen. On the title screen, I can see highlights when the mouse passes temporarily over selections, but I can't see the pointer. I'm playing on a laptop with touch screen, so I was able to go through the character creation, but once the game begins, it's totally unplayable.
Help, please! How can I get to see where I'm pointing the mouse so I can play this thing? I already tried the 'run as administrator' bit and it didn't work. Anybody got any ideas? My only other option is to ask for my money back.

I 'm assuming we are talking about win10. If so, try pressing Win+A to open actions menu then toggle tablet mode off.
Hope this helps cause GD is a great game and it would be a shame not to be able to play a bit over the holidays.

Happy holidays

Yes, it's Win 10, but I'm playing on a laptop. Even though it has a touchscreen, tablet mode is always off. I've installed the game twice with GOG Galaxy, and a third time manually, uninstalling it every time before every attempt. I've tried running it as administrator and I've tried changing the compatibility to win7. I'm not particularly computer savvy and that's the limit of my capabilities so right now I'm out of ideas. Thanks for the reply. I'm just sorry it didn't work. I'll keep trying until my thirty days are almost over and then I'll ask for my money back. I'd rather have it working than get my money back, honestly.
try a few things so we can narrow it down:

1) switch between full screen and windowed mode (alt+Enter)
2) go to galaxy client and run repair (this will reinitialize all settings; uninstall keeps settings file)

Also you could try posting at the GD official forums. Devs seem to read them regularly.

I managed to make it work, of a sort, by running the game with only the computer's graphics rendering, by-passing the graphics card. The problem there, it was running so slow I had to turn down the rendered resolution and that still gave me some problems: like the whole screen blinking whenever the pointer passed over an NPC I could talk to. I tried what you suggested and switched to windowed mode and that seemed to fix everything, except that at the resolution I was rendering, the window was so small. I changed the resolution to my screen res and now, perversely, I could see the pointer, but nothing else, just a black screen. I ran the repair and it didn't seem to reset any of the settings so I uninstalled it again but I haven't had time to reinstall it to try something new. I'll let you know how that goes.
There is some kind of progress going on. Thank you for your continued help.
Hmmm, I 've read something similar in the official forum. This must be driver related. People on the forum suggested either updating to latest version of graphics driver or if running the latest version then rolling to a previous one.
Is your GPU ATI or Nvidia? Nvidia has a function that optimizes settings for each game; that might work.

If this isn't you then this guy has the same issue with a surface book.

IT WORKS!! Your suggestion of running the game in windowed mode did it. I run it in borderless windowed mode with the same resolution as my display and it's like playing fullscreen and I don't have the problem anymore. A new problem, and it's minor, is that my laptop default resolution is double 3200 x 1800 and playing that way means that all of the text in the game is super tiny. But all I have to do to solve that is lower my display resolution, keeping the same ratio, and play the game at the same setting and everything is normal size again.

No, I'm not the guy from the Grim Dawn forum. I haven't read his entire thread so I'll go see if he's found a solution to his problem, maybe mine can work for him.

Thank you so much for all your help!
Ok I read something about this problem.
It isn't DX related nor GPU related.
It probably has to do with windows scaling and how GD reacts to that.
Check this post [Grim Dawn Official Forums]
They are reporting the same issues as you and used the same solution as you.
No solution is given for full screen yet but I would keep tabs on this for future fixes.
