timnikoley: I have gothic 1 installed and it works fine, but it work play any of the cg seens, just a black screen with the sound?
Arkose: Disabling antialiasing in your video card drivers may fix this problem, but that doesn't always work. One thing that does always work is disabling video scaling. This way the video won't fill up the whole screen, unfortunately, but it's still better than seeing nothing at all. :)
To disable video scaling you need to edit Gothic.ini and change scaleVideo=1 to scaleVideo=0. For Vista and Windows 7 you can normally find this file in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Gothic\System (or similar--the folders below VirtualStore reflect wherever the game has been installed); note that AppData is a hidden folder by default, but you can still access it by entering it in the address bar. For XP, or if it's not within VirtualStore, you can find this file within the System subfolder of wherever you installed the game to.
One easy way of watching videos you've already missed is to install
The RAD Video Tools (free), which lets you watch the videos outside the game by running them directly; this also works for videos from most other games.
