After enabling the alternate combat interface in Gothic 2 (where you only have to press one button to attack), I have totally fallen in love with this game. I think I will want to play Gothic 1 when I am finished, but I really don't want to go back to the default combat interface.

Has anyone found a way to use the one-button-attack interface in Gothic 1?

(Maybe (unlikely) the engines are compatible, and one can just switch around some files or something?)

I don't know of any way to mod it in, but one option would be to use a third-party program such as AutoHotkey (free).
Excellent! Thanks.

If you have a gaming keyboard, you can probably program it to make a series of key strokes into a single one.
