Games like Gothic 3 make me happy. I love exploring the Gothic 3 universe, taking on quests and wandering like a nomad hither and yon, on a quest for adventure, acclaim and loot. I've been playing Gothic 3 for a couple of weeks before discovering the community patches and mods. So I'm going to apply patches and mods and start over but I thought while I'm waiting for the various files to download I'd post a few of observations after playing (and dying a lot!) for the past couple of weeks.

1. F5 should be hit frequently, especially when encountering new and potentially deadly encounters.

2. I believe in keeping a big safety zone between me and various creatures that want to eat me so I buff my bow skills and when jogging through the land I have my bow armed to 'see' highlighted foes and friends in front of me. I don't think it's a hack since I still have to deal with whatever it is, or not.

3. Seek the high ground.

4. Run away from large packs of 'anything'.

5. Again, F5 is your friend.

6. Don't forget to sleep and take potions and antidotes when applicable.

7. Explore, look in to everything and go up, over and into anything you can.

8. Some caves are really really really dark -- so carry lots of torches.

9. The Tame Animal spell can be fun, make a big forest creature your ally and go find some butt to kick.

10. Turning the music off helps you hear important cues like growling, snorting, buzzing, screeches, etc.

Okay, I'm done for now.
Have a nice night everyone.
