The in-game music doesn't play. Music is enabled, and all the other sound works fine.
I'm using Vista and have a SoundBlaster X-Fi. All newest drivers.
Anyway to get the music working?

And of course after posting that, within minutes I found the issue. Vista SP1 stops it from working, and there was a fix out there in the form of a patch. :)

Nice to see that it worked out, maybe you can mark your post as a solution, so that the solution tag is displayed if anyone else runs into this problem?

I was having the same issue, as well as surround not working with my 7.1 setup. This "patch" fixed both issues for me. Simply move the dll files to the system folder in your Gothic installation. I'm also using Creative ALchemy with my X-Fi, I have not tested this fix without it. My sound settings are on Directsound HW and surround (in game).
Correction of Dezzy's link here. I had to switch the language to English on the bottom left of the forum's page for the download to start.

This link no longer points to anything, just brings me to a page that asks me to contact an admin. The link from the forums at worldofgothic does the same thing. anyone have this file somewhere else we could get it?

ty for the link, but this one won't let me install it on my system. I doesn't detect a german version of the game maybe? won't let me install it anywhere on my drive at all.
