I just downloaded Gothic 1 and installed it on my laptop. The game does not work properly.
I got around a couple of small issues regarding configurations by editing the .ini, and running in compatiblity mode for Windows XP... but there is another problem.
When I start the game and enter the first dialogue with Diego the game gets laggy like hell, and the graphics get really glitchy.
This problem continues after my dialogue, and it makes the game unplayable.
In some cases the game and the graphics driver crash, other times they don't.
I'm running on Windows 7 32bit, and Nvidia 8600M GS graphics. If I've done my research correctly that's not really a good combination for this game... but that's what I have. :\
Are there any fixes for this?
EDIT: I thought I had the newest driver, but that was not the case.
It worked fine after installing the updated graphics driver.
Problem solved.
