I am at the part in the game that I am trying to visit the magician that is needed for the Water Magicians to try to break the barrier.
I have spoken with the flying thing that talks to you telepathically and found on the road nearby three elementals.
My issue is I have no idea how to kill them. I have tried normal weapons to no effect. I have switched allegiances to the Water Magicians (I am one now) and tried spells on them. Well, I tried Ice Spells on the Fire one to no effect.
Any tips on this or do I simply need a higher level of magic to make this all work?

To kill the Earth/stone golem, you need a hammer weapon, such as the Orc Hammer.
To kill the other golems, you need some beefy elemental spells. Ice spells for the fire golem, and vice versa. You can buy some decent scrolls from the watermages.
Edit: and when I say beefy, I mean it. Buy the best scrolls your mana can afford.

yup... the water mage guy did tell you to read the books in the library about how to defeat the golems didn't he? At least he did for me... anyway, any blunt weapon will work on the stone golem, fire spells on the ice, and ice spells on the fire. nothing else will hurt them.

I learned it the hard way in Gothic 2 ;)

He did indeed tell me to read the books. Of course I simply opened every book hoping for a buff of some nature.
Did he really expect me to read them?!!!!

Thanks for the help guys, of course I sold my hammer long ago thinking I had better weapons. Now I have to trudge all over looking for a new one....*sigh*

You can get past the elementals by coming at the tower from the other direction and using some creative jumping. It looks like you can't get up there but there's a grey stone texture that's is just at a sufficiently shallow angle for you to walk up. No acrobatics needed.

you can get to the tower without killing the elementals, but then the demon sends you out to kill them anyway as a test to gain access to the top of the tower

I have killed the Earth and Ice Elementals, but I cannot seem to make a dent in the Fire one.
To get to the level of magic I need for the Spells I still need about 10.000 XP Points. The problem is that I have killed most everything in the game and I am not sure how to gain too many more points to raise my Magic level.
It feels as if I am stuck at this point.
Any help would be great.

You don't need that much. Buy Ice Bolt scrolls from Cronos - they require like what, 5 mana? You'll need about 5 of them. Buy 10 to be safe.

Yeah, I just found out that you actually have to kill them last night. I had looted the ground floor of that area way back in the first chapter but only just made it to the point in the game where you're actually supposed to go there.
In any case, it was simply a matter of hitting the fire golem with some ice bolt spells, and the ice golem with some fire bolt spells. No big deal. Use the terrain to your advantage.

Yep, all dead now. I was trying to the wrong 2 spells out the 3 available! Go figure!

Or you can just use the things that you get for killing the ice element. The fire and ice element both having something you can pick up out of the body and use it as a spell to kill the other.
