According to the "Readme_patch_108k.htm" in the Gothic Installation folder, it lessens the chances of crashing under certain conditions.

Yes except most patches will cause games in progress to crash and not work properly. Automatic additions of patches is not a good thing unless it only happens prior to starting a new game.

You can do a roll back anytime, bro
How tho ? I had 2 mods : playerkit and systempack1.6 installed, everything worked much smoother with these installed, without this new hotfix update.

OK, wait a sec. I know it's unexpected for them to update Gothic in 2018, but if you are playing any game with MODs you should always turn off auto-updates. This is a rule that applies for GOG Galaxy, Steam, every other PC client platform. You do not want the game to auto-update over a MOD, chances of things getting broken is simply huge.

What I would try is: 1) Make a backup of the saves. That's priority, unless you are willing to start over. 2) Change the GOG Galaxy settings to manual update. This should enable rollback through the client. 3) Rollback to the previous version. 4) Reinstall the MODs you have, some files may have been changed by the update so this should fix it.

If for some reason rollback doesn't appear as an option, I'd contact support.
There are elaborate guides in this sub-forum what to do to get the best possible experience (player kit, system pack and what not). So will the new patch 1.08k Hotfix break all this?

I don't think the patch will break the mods, but applying the patch to a modded game has a big chance of not working. At the very least you probably want to (back up your saves and) install the mods again over the latest version.
