I've been trying to get the Gothic II Multiplayer mod, which requires the Night of the Raven expansion, with the GOG.com version of Gothic II Gold. However, neither the old client installer nor the new Alpha client installer recognize the install path, even if I manually input the location of the game. I've tried soliciting help from the developers, but they have been less than helpful; looking over other similar help requests on the mod's forum are just as helpful (or, rather, unhelpful).

Has anyone gotten the Gothic II Multiplayer mod working with GOG.com's version of Gothic II Gold? If so, how was the installation performed?

Go into Gothic II's System folder and rename Gothic.exe to Gothic2.exe. Then point the installer to the main Gothic II folder (not the system folder). The installer will then work.

Note that Gothic Multiplayer makes its own EXE called Gothic.exe (because it's expecting your normal EXE to be Gothic2.exe) so existing shortcuts will run Gothic Multiplayer. You can use still access single player through Gothic2.exe and shortcuts can be updated to use its new name.

Thanks, Arkose - that worked like a charm! Now all I have to do is determine whether the Gothic II Multiplayer server(s) is legitimately down or if it's just my network settings.
