Gothic 1 runs more or less just fine, but since Gothic 2 probably requires a slightly beefier system then Gothic 1, i'm not too sure.

Here are my laptop's specs.

OS: Windows 7 Basic.
Graphics: Intel GMA 4500M.
RAM: 2GBs.
Processor: Intel Celeron 900.

Looking to run the game at 1366 x 768.

Thanks!

There seems to be a demo for Gothic 2, you can try it out.

Thanks, but i already have Gothic 2, so was just kinda wondering before installing the game.

I guess you could call it being lazy :)

Even if it won't run perfectly - you own a copy, so when you'll get some better equipment someday, you can still play it. And believe me - if you like this game, you'll return to it for many years to come.

Gothic II needs some tweaks to run smoothly, even on a new rig. The game was created for computers with maximum of 512 MB of RAM, so you need to tell the game that it's XXI century now ;-)
I`ve played Gothic I and II on various notebooks and never had problems.

It also works on my current Win7 machine, allthough there are sometimes some problems with starting up the application. I also tried an installation in a virtual WinXP on a 64-Bit Vista and all worked fine.

You might have some problems, but the game is worthy for it ;)
Just fired it up and while i barely played 2mins, it pretty much ran as fine as Gothic 1, no problems at all as far as frame rates go ^.^

Only lasted until i exited Xardas tower where i encountered frame rate drops, installed the game on the desktop and it runs fine.
