Hello everyone,
Could someone help me with changing, in my opinion as Christian, VERY problematic and unnessesary pentagram in Xardas tower and elsewhere in game( fire mages...), so I can again play this great game again?

Pentagrams in Gothic have nothing to do with Christianity. They are a protection symbol and have been as such in many other settings. You don't have any sort of allusion to Christian religion in Gothic, there's no Satan or God. The game has different deities (Innos, Adanos, Beliar) and that doesn't bother you, yet a protection symbol does?

I think you should just enjoy the game for what it is - a game, nothing more. It's not meant to make you doubt in your beliefs and offend any religion.

pentagram is pentagram...its not neutral symbol and it means something...I am not suggesting that creators of game had any intentions with it, but they surely could use any other neutral picture or symbol for game purpose..Inos, Adanos, Beliar,Sleeper ( I hope..) are just imagined creatures and player is not in any way, as I recall, in obligation to choose their
" sides" but pentagram is used as "teleportation" symbol (?) in Xardas tower (which must be used in order to play game), as I recall and I do not see how and why that had to be symbol that represent this...if you want everybody to find it "neutral" u could use square, circle, anything..pentagram is certanly not a "neutral or imagined" symbol.....I played Gothic much earlier than I become Christian and it didnt bother me neither then..now it does...I am not teaching you how to look at things and what to believe and if you can't help me in what I asked, then I have no use of your post, but thanks anyway..I believe it is child play for someone with expiriance in modding to change that ONE thing but if no one would do it, (or teach me how to do it..) i would, sadly, be forced to further ignore my favorite game of all times...

I don't mean to offend you, but it baffles me how you dismiss my point - how absurd is your "problem". Why is the pentagram a problem? Is it because of some 19th century use of inverted pentagram, as a church of Satan symbol? You are aware that before that the pentagram could mean for example five wounds of Jesus and was actually a virtuous symbol? How do you know which of these Gothic is referencing and why do you assume the former? A symbol is always open to interpretation, but one's faith should be beyond being offended by a teleportation rune in Xardas's tower. It's not the pentagram being the problem, it's you letting such a silly thing get into you.

Christianity calls satan "biggest liar from the begining"(beliar?)...he sure loves when you consider him as "fairytale"..makes his job much easier..I am not allowed to post any links yet, but be free to type in your explorer "churchofsatan" or "bafemoth" or something like that and see what comes out...see if you can convince those morons that they believe in fairytales...good luck......And better ask yourself why this topic so much bother you...is this really much "sillier" request for modding than any "i dont like shirt/armour/wall textures"?! those are important ones and this is not? I never said that I consider Satan a fairytale. The only thing that I said about Satan is that there's no such thing in Gothic and that the inverted pentagram was used by the church of Satan. That use of the symbol was of course caught by the media, the same way that D&D and metal music was considered "satanic". The Bible and pentagram symbol are way older than that silly mess. You should know that context matters and just a mere sight of a pentagram means nothing. Symbols are not evil, the actions are.

I wanted to get to the core of the issue, and that is your assumption, not the pentagram itself. It's ironic that it doesn't bother you that the colony in Gothic is full of criminals and that people are pretty much exploited there, yet a teleportation symbol is the issue.

Another point is that I will not stand by changing someone's work (of art?) to appease someone's fears. Learn to face your fears, not to hide from them. That will make you and your faith stronger and perhaps you'll learn something from that, I hope.

Ok, calm down. I just wanted to help. No, I'm not a leftist liberal, perhaps a moron though. I don't have any official diagnose for that unfortunately. I'm also not a Satan worshipper. I'll boil down the issue to one sentence:

The pentagram in Gothic is not a symbol of Satan, period.

it wasn't issue for me when I played game 20 years ago neither...but then I wasn't Christian...or better, I was "official" one, didn't take it siriously back then....now I am....If you are not all you claim, why do you see problem in that I want that symbol out of MY game? for you it may not be an issue, for me it is...I also don't care if you prefer better any other mod for game, WHY does it bother you I want this, in your opinion also, "irrelevant" thing out of my game so I can play it? If you really want to help, tell me how to do that, even if you consider me moron for doing that..(I also don't have anything in writing for now..)

Acctually, never mind...forget about modding...further research gives more evidence that pentagram most likely isn't there "by accident"..there is a demon in hebrew language called Belial (it was one of the names for devil..) and one of names used for him is also Beliar....I watched Gothic 2 return mod walkthru where you should pray to Beliar (?!) and he thank you for it(?!?) and in the very beggining of game Xardas "ressurect" you over pentagram?!...sh.t man, no thanks! so, I choose to uninstall all Gothic games hoping that remake will kick that satanic shit out of the game...
