Hi, I've recently bought Gothic 1 on GOG and it was largely because I wanted to play it in German to get some vocabulary and stuff. But the problem is that I can't alt tab out of the game to use a dictionary (don't feel like using a normal one...). I tried looking up some solutions online and read that I should launch the game directly using the Gothic.exe file but that didn't solve the problem. Any other ideas?
Thanks.

Just a few thoughts:

1. Try not to run the game from the shorctut the GOG installer placed on your desktop. Instead run GOTHIC.EXE from you game installation folder.
1. As a general rule, it's always a good idea to press Esc (going into the game menu), and only after trying to Alt Tab out of it.
2. You can hold Alt key and try to press Tab two times consecutively (it worked for me on several occasions).
3. Save every time before At-Tabbing - it crashes the game more often than not.

Hope this helps.

Go to Programs and Features and uninstall GOG.com Gothic; this is the fix that prevents Alt+Tab.

If you are using Windows 8 or newer install the Gothic and Gothic II fullscreen border fix to reinstate the border fix included in GOG's fix.
I don't know of a way to alt-tab out since it wasn't designed for that. I do believe you can play in windowed mode.
