I can't even get the installer to run. After the "file integrity" has been checked, NOTHING. No install.

Actually, once, I did get it installed. But only once. I don't know why I can't do it again. While it was installed, I added a patch or two in hopes of getting the actual game to run and still, nothing. No error report. I could see it in the task manager, but besides that, there was no sign it is even doing anything. I thought the patches f***ed it up so I uninstalled it, hoping to reinstall it.

But I guess before I do anything more at the moment, I need to FRIGGIN INSTALL IT...I just installed my latest drivers etc...I just can't get it to work.

Specs:
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit)
DirectX 11.0
CPU Type QuadCore Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700, 2666 MHz (10 x 267)
Motherboard Name Asus IPIBL-LB (Benicia) (1 PCI, 2 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Video, Gigabit LAN, IEEE-1394)
Motherboard Chipset Intel Bearlake G33
6142 mb RAM
GPU ZOTAC GEFORCE GTX 460 SE 1GB GDDR5 PCIE SLI

Thanks for any help :D

EDIT: After about fifteen minutes, the setup popped up out of nowhere. I have no idea why or how, but it did. But still-why won't the actual game run? Any suggestions?

There are a number of threads on the Gothic 2 support page including this one suggesting the use of a utility called GothicStarter.

The long lag with the integrity check is also covered.
Thanks man. I'll check it out.

Aha! All I had to do was close Chrome. That's weird. But ok. Thanks a ton, Kezardin
