gog, what are the chances of seeing Gothic II come to gog?
It would be great and I hope it is possible and that it might occur in the 2009.
It would be great to have it along with the Night of the Raven expansion; don't forget about that :-).

Did not know about that. In fact, this was first go at Gothic at all and I have enjoyed it very much.
It would be great to continue the story once I finish which I figure will be fairly soon.

It adds a TON of content to the game. New quests, new creatures and god knows what else. It's not Gothic II without it heheh.
My hope is that we will be able to get a Gothic 2 + NotR bundle for ten bucks. Even though I own the original game, I never got to try out the expansion.

after playing #1 I would love #2... I would think they could get it here at some point since I'm assuming the same company holds the rights to both?
Funny thing, Gothic 1 was published by CDP Red in Poland. But Gothic 2 was published by Jowood/Atari. Night of the Raven was published by Jowood/Aspyr.
Correct me if I am wrong( and I probably am because I have no inkling of the laws regarding publisher/developer rights and who holds what ) but doesn't the publisher have the actual rights for the game? If that's the case, maybe there is a bit of a speedbump getting the 2nd Gothic plus the expansion here on GOG.

My understanding is that the developer retains ownership of the copyright, while the publisher is granted exclusive distribution rights, the scope of which can vary depending on the contract between the developer and publisher (e.g. the distribution rights can apply to only one country). In such a case both the developer and publisher would have to sign off on a third party such as GOG distributing the game.
Gothic 3 was also brought out by Jowood/Aspyr.

;)
Dang, talk about service.
I purchased the plain old Gothic 2 several months ago, and never got around to it. I think I'll go ahead and try the Gold version, though I hear it significantly ramps up the difficulty.

But the controls are better.
Woo!
Though I own the original Gothic 2, I never had the pleasure of playing the expansion pack, even after wanting it for years. I might finally be pushed into buying something on here. (Been hesitant about using GOG in addition to Steam, because Steam is my baby, and I really would prefer it on there. LOVE.)
Fuck YES! That is all.

You are my new God! Night of the Raven, here I come.
Cheers, GOG Team :)
