The Gothic 3 version on GoG is not the original one, its the so-called enhanced edition.
The store page title is Gothic 3, not Gothic 3 Enhanced Edition, so i wonder if there is a way to remove the "enhancement" and play the original version?
I have the original cd but sadly i couldnt make it work on win 7 or win 10.
Tried googling for solutions, but all solutions point to the community patch, which turns Gothic 3 into the Enhanced Edition that i dont want.
Tried the early patches, like 1.09 and such, but still the game refuses to run.
Tried compatibilities and all, but nope, the game process just shuts off.
Posting this in hopes someone has a solution for playing the original game without the community patch.
I have no trouble running retail/boxed G3 on Win 7.

Is the game installed but won't run? - if so, download and install the "Tages" drivers from their site, choose appropriate 32/64 bit version, worked for me. google for Tagesprotection com web site

Piranha Bytes own final patch 1.12 works well, no community involement whatsoever.
Find it on the Worldofgothic web site

Good luck

Thank you for the reply but installing Tages didnt change anything. The game process just shuts off.
So there is no way to play original, non-community patched version of Gothic 3 from GOG? I tried to simply install patch 1.12, but it just messed up UI yet still kept v.1.74.
