ive been thinking of buying me a new rpg, and cant decide between these two. so to anyone who has played both, please tell me your opinion of both.
if it helps, id have to say morrowind is my favorite rpg.
I only see one rpg game in your selection. If you are looking for a role playing sensation, Gothic 2 is for you.
While neither is all that similar to Morrowind, Gothic II is certainly the closest.
Note that with the Night of the Raven expansion (which the GOG installer installs by default) Gothic II becomes very difficult. If you like making tough decisions and/or are the sort of person who plays a game through on Hard the first time through, NotR is probably just what you are looking for, but otherwise you might want to play without the expansion for your first time through.
Basically it is this: If you like RPGs like Diablo, go with Sacred Gold. It is a good game, lot of bang for your buck.
If you like RPG's that have an open world and more of a story, go for Gothic/Gothic 2.
Both are good buys, it really depends on what you are looking for. I own Sacred and Gothic and can recommend both.
