Hello,

So, my problem lies in the title, I'm not unfamiliar with such problems with every old PB game, although with Gothic 1 I always found the Gothic fix to solve (or rather remove the fps cap, and yes with system patch and player kit).
I tried installing the system pack and player kit by installing/reverting to version 2.6, doesn't help. Running on integrated or dedicated (2060) doesn't make a bit of difference. Tried playing with the settings in directx config, anisotropic, antialiasing, windowed and such, nope.
Checked with rivatuner/afterburner, refresh drops, sometimes a little, to 58, causing stutter when panning the camera, and quite often drops to 1/0 actually, outright freezing.

Hoping someone has some suggestion to share, anything welcome !

Cheers!

Have you tried using the D3D11 renderer?
I have, though that just crashed the frames. Regardless of the settings. Might try a different fork, but the thing is, d3d11 requires version 2.6; so my question would then morph into what do people generally use ? Do you use the lambda version 2.7 or else ?

Update. So I reverted to 2.6 and tried with a different d3d11 fork. That in of itself wasn't the problem.
It so happens the power mode key doesn't work on my keyboard anymore, so the nvidia xperience software was limiting the framerate to 30 and since d3d11 is quite hungry it tended to fall under that.
That's great, but still I distinctly remember not having to install d3d11 and have the fans kick in last time I played the game a couple years ago. If it's not just me than it should also be in the sticky imo.
Used to play it on the integrated graphics no problem.
