Every time I install Gothic 2, I get the same result. The installer gives me the following error:

"An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory:
C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Gothic 2 Gold\Spacer2.exe

MoveFile failed; code 2.
The system cannot find the file specified."

At the same time, my antivirus (Trend Micro Titanium) pops up with a "File Removed" notice. When I pull up the details, it shows me a file in C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Gothic 2 Gold\system\ with a name like is-949FJ.tmp (the filename changes each time), and that the threat spotted is "WORM_SPYBOT.BMC"

This page on Trend Micro's site lists that file as low risk. This page mentions that Gothic 2 has apparently shown up as a false positive with its executable, and claims that it's been fixed.

So, I'm assuming this is a false positive, but I want to make certain before I start interfering with my system's security. Please advise.

This is a false positive; spacer2 is some sort of editing tool used for making Gothic II mods. The VirusTotal report shows only 4/42 products detecting it, two of which are Trend Micro's products.

You should be able to temporarily disable protection while installing the game and then add the spacer2 file to the exceptions (Settings, Exception Lists, Add, Browse) before enabling protection again. Adding the whole folder would also work if it supports doing that (I'm not sure off-hand). You could also contact Trend Micro about fixing this false positive to resolve the issue altogether.
Thanks. I was able to go into TM's settings and whitelist the installation folder.
