Hi,

I started playing Gothic 2 for the second time and there is one thing that I really don't like. The grass that makes it difficult to spot herbs. The world of Gothic 2 is great and I like the amount of detail but I really would prefer a cleaner ground like Gothic 1. Is it possible to remove grass in a way? By an option in gothic.ini or by a mod or something?

I don't think you are able to do that but I do believe there was a way to highlight items on the ground. Go to your Gothic.ini in the System folder of your Gothic II installation folder and look for zHighLightScale=0. Change the value to 1 and save the file, then you should be able to see the herbs easier. IIRC there is also an amulet which will help you by searching for items.

Hi and thanks, that made it look better. I think I got used to the grass in time :)
Don't forget to buy the lawnmower in town. That'll cut down the grass in no time. Just be sure to stop the engine quickly, if a reagent starts getting caught in the blades.

If you're playing NOTR you can get the amulet from Vatras with the will o wisp, and train it to find herbs. You may also like Vurt's texture patch. He adds more plant meshes (which you may not like) but tries to make herbs more noticeable (which you may like).
