I beat Gothic 2 NotR for the first and second times recently, went back to Gothic 1, beat that and now I'm planning on revisiting Gothic 3, with the Community Patch this time!

First things first I want to discuss G1 & G2.

The thing that stood out to me the most from transitioning between these two games is that creature power GREATLY varied between games. Some creatures are devastatingly powerful in one and pretty weak in the other.

Example: In G1 it goes Lizards < Lurkers < Snappers. In G2 all three are approximately equal except that Lizards are harder to deal with.

In G1 Shadowbeasts were actually very powerful and tough, in G2 they're very middle of the road. A single Orc Dog (Warg) is almost statistically identical to a Shadowbeast in G2!

Orcs probably got the biggest overhaul. In G1 the strongest (living) Orcs, Orc Temple Guards dealt out a nasty 140 damage a swing but any Undead Orcs hit much harder (175 or 195)! In G2 Orcs are incredibly devastating for practically the entire game but Undead Orcs, which you don't come across until the very end of the game, aren't any more threatening than normal Orc Warriors.

Oh, another thing! When I played G1 it was refreshing to not see the stock Giant Rats that you fight in every RPG. Then G2 went and added them! >:[

Other than that the armor system seemed like the biggest difference. In G1 damage could be reduced to 1 damage, in G2 the minimum is 5. Overall I have more nostalgia for G1 but I have to admit the combat is more fluid in G2. Most of my time fighting enemies in G1 is waiting for them to let me hit them hoping that they won't trigger an invincibility dodge.

The inventory system. It gets a really weird change from G1->G2. In g1 it's categorized but displayed very linearly. I think keeping the categorization system would have been a better idea. On the other hand G2's item transference is better, letting you hold down the move button then every 10 the amount moved jumps by x10.

At the end of the day I enjoyed both of them quite a bit and will certainly come back to play them again.

Now, is there anything I should know before starting G3? [I AM NOT ASKING FOR SPOILERS, DON'T SPOIL ANYTHING!]

For clarity's sake, what I'm asking is: Is there anything I will wish I knew before starting that I won't learn quite early on in playing G3? [I wish I knew Horatio couldn't boost your strength over 100, I would have had him give me the +5 Strength way earlier on.]

The community patch comes built-in to G3 now, right? I just have to activate it?
