Hello !

At first everything seems perfect and the game run under Wine with no flaws.
But now after a few hours of gameplay the keyboard is stuck.
If I press "W" or "up" for example, the character will continue to go forward for about a minute (I can still press left and write, but he will run still).
And sometimes some keys (like Esc) stop reacting for a minute.

The mice seems to work fine.

Please help me solve this as the game is almost unplayable at this time.

Wine 1.3.19 has just been released; have you tried using this version?

If the new Wine version doesn't resolve the problem I'd suggest asking over on the official Wine forums as you're much more likely to get a solution there.

After deleting the Vdfs32e.exe and Vdfs32g.exe files from the system folder, things got better - not perfect as at first but at least it takes much longer for the game to begin to stuck.

Oh, it's VDFS-related. In that case maybe the VDFS patch would help. You can extract the installer's contents manually if desired. After patching either way delete VDFS.DMP from the game's main folder to ensure a new file is generated.

It works with the English Gothic2 NOTR ...right ? in that case I'll try it when I'll get home (just got to work :( ).

I had this happen in the GOG version from time to time. I can't remember exactly what I did but it was a keyboard button that fixed it. Perhaps "escape" or maybe it was the spacebar (draw weapon) or one of the weapons numbers.

Well, I do manage to release the "stuck" by trying many different commands (wasd) but it happens again and again and I just forced to restart the game.

From the beginning or a save?

I've tried it but it didn't fix the problem, moreover it screwed the items in the game (I can no longer see any items in my inv and merchants), I suspect it could be the paths.d file that got screwed, here it is : http://pastebin.com/5wnfHn88

If you know whats the problem or you have a correct one, please post.

From the saves, but only after at least 20 min of gameplay.
