It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

As soon as I go outside the screen continues to flash and I'm not sure what the problem is. I tried different settings but none seem to work. Can anyone help with this?

That is an issue w/ Win Vista and some nVidia cards I believe. When I first bought Gothic 2 and was running Vista I had the same sort of glitch, the only work around I had was to run it in a Ubuntu linux install :/

Oddly enough it seems to be running fine now for me on Windows 7 with my nVidia card.

You'll need to update your nvidia drivers.

This is a common issue. For the longest time, nvidia's drivers conflicted with Gothic 2, and it wasn't until some months ago they finally fixed it.

Also, regarding the blank intros, I have the same issue. To fix it (Mostly.) go in the gothic.ini in your game folder and set "scalevideos" to 1, and it should work.

The two bugs aren't linked, and I say it mostly fixes it because while I can see the videos now, sometimes they'll just flicker rather than play properly. A chance is still better than just audio though.

You can also disable the startup videos in that .ini as well. Anyway, good luck.

If you're wanting to see the videos properly you can watch them outside the game using The RAD Video Tools (free). This will also work for any other game using .bik or .smk videos.

Sorry my little brother hijacked my account while I was away to ask this and I deleted the post and meant to come back to it but forgot.

Solved? Oh really? I regret that I bought Gothic 2 (again)! And nVidia has no more updates for me, the walkaround driver wich was offered on other forums doesn't let me pick a path.. totally disappointed! And after reaching the the city Kh. inside the game I suddenly got an Access Error message.. ugh. 2 days wasted on this game already. I will get an old laptop with xp, end of story :)

So updating to the latest drivers didn't fix this for you?

There was nothing to update, I have it set to automatic-updates for win7 and nvidia, but visited their sites and rechecked just in case.. and the walkaround patch for gothic2 (from other forums) isn't working either for me.. sadly! So after I left the tower, I made my way till the city (wich was a torture, but didn't crash), searched for a job and at one point when I was talking to a vendor *bam* access error message (error message I get in gothic 1 also, but right after the start) *hmpf*
