Hello! I just bought Gothic 1 and it won't start. The process Gothic.exe runs in the background but nothing happens. Any ideas?

I've also got this same issue. Online I found someone saying to disable Logitech Gaming Software, but that didn't change anything.

but then i tried to close Logitech gaming software and also enabled the compatibility mode on Windows XP EP3 mode.
Now when i run it as Administrator the game Starts !

The game does not start because it is blocked by a windows program.
launch gothic 1 then the windows task managed ctrl + alt + sup
if you don't see it, click detail on the lower left
right click on the gothic icon select something like (i run in french) display details
in that new window right click select analyse it does tell you which program does block,
suppress that program, for me it was onedrive.exe if you see a program called search something do not suppress it, suppress onedrive.exe and wait a bit (otherwise windows will restart)
