First off, Gothic runs without PlayerKit and SystemPack installed, but seeing the improvements those bring, why wouldn't I want them?

And, ironically, here comes the problems.

When I install PlayerKit and start up Gothic, the game starts fullscreen but shows borders, as if it's windowed. I installed SystemPack, thinking it would fix it, and then Gothic wouldn't start up at all.

I checked the Access Violation and saw that it was crashing on the intro video, so i disabled the startup video and tried again. Gothic started up this time, but still with the borders showing. I then tried to start a new game, and it crashed.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Perhaps there is a conflict in version GoG has its dll, it is necessary to understand. You can organize a session in TeamViewer?

I think you've answered your own question: they can cause problems of their own.

I know I've used the Player Kit before, and I think that one's mostly good. As I recall it fixes a couple of late-game showstopper bugs. I've never heard of the System Pack before, but I'd be wary.

Gothic modding in general is a sketchy thing from my experience. That community was never that big and almost everything I've tried has been disappointing or failed to live up to expectations.

My advice is to get it running with the Player Kit and nothing else, and be glad if you don't have problems. And save frequently.

It's a great game, but it can be a headache to get in running good on modern systems.

Yeah, just tell me when we can start. I've never used TeamViewer before so it could be a bumpy start.
Thanks to MaGoth, he worked it all out!
I can't install the SystemPack over my GOG version... How did you fix this? It'd be nice if you shared your solution. Thanks in advance! :D

EDIT: I fixed it, I had this problem because I didn't know the SystemPack required the Player Kit. I hope this helps anyone with the same issue.
