Hi there, I just got these games for Christmas and started playing Gothic 1. I know how to pick up items (hold the action and forward key), but my problem is that the text for items does not show. For example, when you first start the game, there is a torch laying on the ground. Usually, when you walk up to the torch, there is text on screen that says TORCH so you know there is an item to pick up. That text is gone now for all items on the ground. I tried to pick the item up anyway, knowing that I can pick it up normally, and nothing happens. I don't know if I did something wrong or if the game is just being glitchy; these older games tend to be buggy. Whenever I search for help picking up items, I just see a bunch of posts from people needing help figuring out how to pick up items and nothing that pertains to my problem.
