Hey guys,

Quick question here:

Using cheats in Gothic 1 has any unintended consequences?

I'm using a mod and I mean to use the cheat engine to kill just 1 buggy npc at the beginning of the game as I'm too weak to do so right at the start, then make a save, restart the game and start playing normally.

Can I mess things up ust by enabling the cheat engine?

Thanks!

I am not personally aware of any, but why Cheat Engine? Using the built-in Marvin mode is much cleaner and easier. Also, what do you mean by "buggy NPC"?

thanks for the answer!

When I said cheat engine I was referring to the marvin mode cheats, specifically the "kill" command.

It's an NPC with messed up dialogue lines. Whenever I enter in combat with him and he beats me down the game bugs after the hero gets up (I cannot use the menu, inventory and so on).
Hm. I partially suspected it would be convoyed Thorus from Dark Mysteries.

AFAIR, just using "kill" for getting rid of story-unimportant NPCs doesn't usually hurt anything. If you are really sure that you won't need said NPC, feel free to do so.

Thanks again mate.

Yeah, I'm really sure this one is unimportant as he's not story related. I will just get rid of him using marvin mode and keep playing the game normally.
